Coming from a joint venture between Alain Raynaud and Hubert de Boüard, the 2017 Château De Pressac (75% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenere and Malbec) has a ripe, exotic style. Plums, blueberries, scorched earth, and licorice are just some of the aromas, and it hits the palate with medium to full body, building tannin, and a good finish. It's not the most elegant or seamless wine out there, but it has plenty of fruit and texture. Tasted twice.
