Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Moulin Haut-Laroque rolls out of the glass with black cherries, kirsch and baked redcurrants scents plus wafts of underbrush, Sichuan pepper and tilled soil. Medium-bodied, the palate reveals plenty of vibrant fruit with a chewy backbone and earthy finish.

The 2016 Moulin Haut-Laroque is a soft, pretty wine to drink young, while the flavors remain vibrant. Red berry blood orange and mint run through this very pretty, if somewhat understated, Fronsac. This is a lovely showing.

A little fluid right now but this shows attractive blackcurrant and berry character. Medium body, firm tannins and a medium finish. Wait and see.
