Château Margaux - Margaux 2008
2008 will be an exceptional vintage for everyone, against all expectations. On 14 septembre, the situation appeared to be extremely grim, due to poor climatic conditions; however, the sunshine then finally came through and was followed by more than thirty consecutive days of cool dry weather. Against the odds, Château Margaux was granted a second chance. There was no question of harvesting all of the grapes at the same time; the harvests continued through to the end of Octobre, with each plot being picked at optimal maturity. Very low yields and the work and steadfast patience of the vine-growers enabled the harvesting of healthy ripe grapes. In the vat rooms efforts were focused on producing a fruity, well-defined, balanced wine. Above all, one without any austerity. As a further bonus, nature conferred strength and elegance.
