On the fresher side, with honeysuckle and orange blossom notes leading the way before more typical glazed peach, creamed yellow apple and yellow plum flavors flow through. Both the rich and floral details mingle through the finish. Shows lovely integration already, and is approachable now. Drink now through 2035. 900 cases made.

The 2014 Haut-Peyraguey is a very pretty Sauternes from Bernard Magrez. Enticing scents of pineapple, lemon confit, white flowers and new oak are impossible to resist. Soft, airy and weightless on the palate, the 2014 has lost a bit of the exuberance it showed as a young wine, but it has gained in finesse. This understated, pretty Sauternes has plenty to offer.

Bernard Magrez's 2014 Haut-Peyraguey is round, seamless and polished throughout. There is lovely density in the glass to match the exuberant flavors. Orange peel, mint, sweet flowers and cinnamon flesh out in a Sauternes that is quite voluptuous and oily on the palate, but never heavy. A long, silky finish laced with coconut and floral overtones rounds things out in this stylish, extroverted Sauternes.

A beautifully composed Sauternes with layers of intense flavors that balance the sweetness and acidity from the attack to the finish. Honey, dried apricot and sweet jasmine flowers. Good intensity, depth and lingering finish.

Recht dunkles Gelb mit erstem Goldschimmer, brillant. Die Nase zeigt viel Power, da sind auch ganz deutliche Röstnoten von den Barriques mit dabei, wirkt parfümiert und zeigt in seiner generellen Süsse viel gekochte, helle Aprikosen. Cremiger Gaumen, weiche Konturen, sicherlich gross, aber irgendwie scheint er auch etwas gemacht. Das macht in laut und er bettelt um Zuneigung und die Gunst der Bewerter. Sauternes sind aber Langsteckenläufer. Und die sollten nicht nur die kurzen Distanzen gewinnen. Er bekommt bei mir einen Punkt mehr, wenn er durchhält und seine Versprechungen in der vollen Reife einlöst. Ich habe jetzt schon leicht aufgerundet! 18/20 2020 – 2055

93–95. Barrel Sample. Opulent honey notes dominate the flavor of this super-rich wine. A dry core of botrytis gives an almost mineral character to the wine. Full bodied, a blend of apricot and crisp pear notes are generous and concentrated.
