The Château Monbousquet Blanc 2014 is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Sauvignon Gris, 5% Sémillon and 5% Muscadelle that is raised in 50% new oak. It has a very attractive, well-defined bouquet with grapefruit, green apple and kiwi fruit, the Sauvignon Blanc completely in charge. The new oak here is deftly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of lemongrass on the entry, nicely judged acidity with a long, saline citrus tail on the finish. This should drink well over the next 4-6 years.

34 hl/ha. 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Sauvignon Gris, 5% Sémillon, 5% Muscadelle. 
Very pale lemon. Perfumed (presumably thanks to the Sauvignon Gris). Heavy with lots of extract. But still smells a bit of fermentation. A tad simple.

Refreshing, lifted and floral with lovely acidity and focused purity. This is a lively, medium-bodied Monbousquet Blanc that can be enjoyed fairly young. Fresh, juicy and well crafted.

89–91. Barrel Sample. A rare white from the vineyards of Saint-Émilion, this is fresh and delicately perfumed. It is crisp in spiced pear and sliced apple flavors that are supported by intense acidity.
