The 2014 La Fleur is deep, dense and authoritative in style. A host of black cherries, smoke, mocha, licorice, violets and plums blossom as this pliant, expressive wine shows off its bold personality. Today the tannins are quite overpowering. It will be interesting to see if the 2014 develops a bit better balance in bottle.

The Château La Fleur 2014 seemed overripe on the nose while the palate is chewy and feels very static. Uninteresting. I hope it shows better once in bottle.

Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Ausladendes, reifes und angenehm süsses Holunder- und Brombeerenbouquet, ziemlich rahmig im Ansatz. Im Gaumen charmant mit samtenem Fluss, traumhafte Balance und der Wein bleibt bis hin zum langen Finale in seiner wunderschönen, schwarzbeerigen Aromatik. Nach ein paar eher schwierigen Jahren ist hier dieser La Fleur wieder bei den allerbesten Saint Emilions anzutreffen. Kaufen! 18/20 2019 – 2038
