The 2016 Goulée by Cos d'Estournel is soft, supple and open-knit, all qualities that will make it an excellent choice for drinking pretty much upon release. Silky tannins, lifted aromatics and a host of red fruits add to the wine's sensuality.

(77 Merlot, 18 Cabernet Sauvignon, 5 Cabernet Franc) | 30% new oak | 12.9% alc. | 62 IPT This is a decent Goulée and it is not as marked by the hot temperatures as the wines from Saint-Estèphe because of its location. With good weight, this is a forward, clean, juicy and rather charming wine and in this vintage there is an addition of Cabernet Sauvignon, which contributes to its more intense fruit core. 16.5

This is an excellent Goulée with the cooling edge of a beautiful fresh Médoc coupled with generosity. Easily one of the best Goulées that I have tasted. Flint and smoke aromatics on the nose are followed by welcoming red fruits through the body of the wine. 77% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, picked over a long harvest period from 28th September to 15th October. This is the first year the new plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon have been included in the blend. 3.65pH. Drinking Window 2023 - 2035

77% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. Yield 52 hl/ha. Picked 28 September - 15 October.Not much nose. Lots of freshness. Really quite lifted and racy on top, though a tad stodgy underneath. Definitely quite an evolution of style. A certain inkiness but very much smarter than it used to be. Inky finish.
