Juicy and compact, with red currant and black cherry fruit trying to burst out while light savory, singed cedar and floral notes dart through. Light chalky thread on the finish, which isn't dense, but does have ample energy. Very engaging. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Drink now through 2028. 3,750 cases made. –JM

Bouquet complexe inspiré par son terroir et son élevage. Ainsi je relève des nuances crayeuses et des notes de fèves de cacao suivies de baies noires. Caractère friand et équilibré en bouche. Belle harmonie entre la générosité et la fraîcheur. Les tannins sont fins, bien intégrés et en phase avec la structure acide. Un vin fin, de caractère.

The 2018 Moulin Haut-Laroque has a high-toned bouquet of blueberry and cassis infused with potent violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, moderate acidity and a pastille-like finish that is not quite as complex or as nuanced as its peers. Not bad overall, though.

Deep purple-black colored, the 2018 Moulin Haut-Laroque bursts from the glass with seductive blackberry pie, Black Forest cake and preserved plums plus hints of violets, cigar box and chargrill. Full-bodied, concentrated and packed with black fruit layers, it has a firm, velvety texture and seamless freshness, finishing fragrant.

This is very tight and already integrated. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and dark-chocolate, hazelnut and blueberry character. Lovely finish.
