The 2017 Haut-Marbuzet is medium to deep garnet-purple colored with a nose of baked red and black currants, kirsch and cedar with dried herbs and earth notions. The palate is medium-bodied, chewy, lean and finishes short. Drinking Window : 2020 - 2026

The 2017 Haut-Marbuzet is racy and enticing, just as it was en primeur. Ripe red cherry fruit, blood orange, rose petal, anise and mint give the 2017 its distinctive personality. As it often is, Haut-Marbuzet is a bit eccentric, especially in its slightly oxidative aromatic personality, and yet it has so much character.

Nez fruité, très élégant, avec un style presque bourguignon. Vin gourmand avec un fruit exacerbé, juste un peu ferme en finale. Il gagnera encore à l’élevage.

The 2017 Haut-Marbuzet is terrific. Wild flowers, grilled herbs, sage, mint and sweet red cherries are laced throughout. Distinctly floral and medium in body, Haut-Marbuzet captures the personality of the vintage nicely. The 2017 is pleasantly rustic and full of character.

Espresso, earth, tobacco haze and blackberries on the nose, this is medium bodied, bright, fresh and soft. You may enjoy this wine early, as the tannins and fruits are extremely tender.

The 2017 Haut-Marbuzet has a typical plump, fruit-forward bouquet with red plum, strawberry preserve and dark chocolate aromas. If you appreciate this property’s forward, fruit-driven style then this will suit you to the ground. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin and moderate depth. It is a little more conservative towards the finish and oaky at the moment, a vintage constrained by the growing season unlike in 2016. Whilst not as complex as the top tier Saint-Estèphes, I feel there is some drinking fun to be had here given three or four years of ageing.

An old school St-Estèphe from the Duboscq family, showing well-extracted black fruits, cassis and bilberry, but the acidity is thrown a little off-balance through the mid-palate. The wines here are always on the firm side, with tannins that need a bit of bottle ageing to tame, and this is no exception, but the austerity of the vintage lessens some of its charm.

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, je 5% Petit Verdot und Cabernet Franc. 40 hl/ha . Dunkles Gra-nat mit violettem Rand. Duftige Waldbeeren und Veilchen, dahinter tabakige Würze und viel Cassisblüten. Am Gaumen zeigt der Wein viel Souplesse und Kraft, zarte Muskeln zei-gond. Ktassischer Haut-Marbuzet, der sei-nen Weg gefunden hat. 17/20 2025 - 2045
