The layers of raspberry coulis and crushed boysenberry fruit are studded with red licorice, carrying through the spice-tinged finish. A lingering hint of plum skin keeps this ever so slightly taut, graced with solid fruit. Best from 2015 through 2020

Tasted en primeur at the Pomerol Syndicate. The Fayat 2011 has a ripe, blackberry and dark plum scented bouquet that is plush and rounded. The palate is sweet and nicely poised on the entry. It lacks a little cohesion and character and the finish tapers away, yet it retains decent balance despite a touch of volatility on the finish. Tasted April 2012.
