The 2016 De Chambrun has a feisty bouquet with lively black cherries, blueberry and red cherry fruit, the oak nicely integrated and lending focus. The palate is sweet on the entry with chewy tannin. There is part of me that thinks this is just a little overdone towards the finish, where I was seeking more tension and delineation. Maybe that will develop during barrel maturation? This is a good Lalande de Pomerol, but it just needs to temper its nascent enthusiasm.
