Teres Rosé - Castle of the Rouët - Wine of Countries of the Mediterranean

Ferme Templière, then a former stage coach inn, the Château is located at the foot of the Colle du Rouët, a volcanic bar of red ocher which culminates at 560 meters and preserves the remains of a prehistoric habitat in listed and protected caves. In 1927 a great fire devastated all the Estérel from Mandelieu to La Motte, departure by Mistral and return by wind of East. After having exploited thousands of cubic meters of maritime pine, Lucien Savatier decided to plant the vines and peach trees (fishing of Fréjus) in order to protect the forest from clearing firebreaks. It is from this time that the vineyard and the buildings of exploitation date. After the Second World War, in 1945 René Savatier and Victor Trocello, manager of the Domaine, initiated the sale of Château du Rouët wines. Since 1962, Bernard Savatier has devoted his career to managing this Domaine for his family by developing strongly the production of bottled wine. In the 1990s, he was joined by his sons Martin and Matthew. Martin Savatier has developed and modernized the vineyard that he has accompanied in its extension. Through his work and his love for this terroir, he also contributed greatly to the birth of the Fréjus appellation. Matthieu Savatier took the responsibility of developing the reputation of Château du Rouët wines both in France and abroad. Today, he is responsible for the destiny of the Vineyard and the Domaine, which he continues to develop.
