Meursault 1er Cru "The Charms" 2010 - Ropiteau Frères
In 1848, a revolutionary year, the province, less affected than Paris, benefited in a way from a current of new energies to rebuild a modern world in peace and fraternity. The arrival of the railway that year at Meursault prompted Jean Ropiteau to found his trading house with his brothers-in-law. At 24, this winemaker and cooper of Monthélie, whose roots Burgundy go back to the XVIth century, quickly convinced that this means of transport would allow him to make known his Burgundy wines. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the House has continued to grow, remaining faithful to its values. In 1940, Auguste Ropiteau bought the current cellars of Meursault. In the same year, he bought a Field in pluriculture at the Hospices de Beaune, for a morsel of bread, because the era is not really conducive to the sale of wines. The success is such that the name Ropiteau has become synonymous with great Meursault.
