A sleeper of the vintage, Du Tertre's 1996 exhibits a black/ruby/purple color, along with a sweet, earthy, Asian spice, black-cherry, and cassis-scented nose, fine ripeness, density, medium body, moderate tannin, and a chewy, multi-layered, surprisingly long finish. This property is owned and administered by Madame Gasqueton, who is also doing a terrific job at Calon-Segur. Du Tertre should be a very good value.
