A blend of 51% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon and the rest Sauvignon Gris, this wine has staggering aromatics of orange blossom, lemon custard, pineapple and mango. Exotic, rich and full-bodied, it should drink nicely for at least 10 -15 years or more.

This is a juicy and luscious white. Not the perfect 2009. But really delicious and impressive. It's full-bodied, with creamy, floral and apple pie character. Lots of new wood and ripe fruit. Better in 2015. But up front and sexy now.

The Pape Clement Blanc is a blend of 51% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon, 13% Sauvignon Gris and 3% Muscadelle that is aged for 15 months in new oak barrels. The nose takes a few swirls to pull itself together. There are scents of lime flower, fresh apricot, white peach and a touch of vanilla emanating from the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp fresh entry. This is a very tight, controlled Pape Clement Blanc – not as flamboyant as the 2009, but very focused on the finish with the Sauvignon Gris imparting a touch of spice towards the finish. Very fine. Tasted November 2012.

Mitteldunkles Gelb. Unglaublicher Aromendruck von Beginn weg, viel weisse Nektarinen, deutlisches Vanillin und auch eine Spur Kokosöl, fast zu Kopf steigend. Mundfüllender Gaumen mit Fett im dicklichen Extrakt, das von rosa Grapefuitnoten gestützt wird, burgundische Fülle, im Finale Bergamottespuren. Beeindruckende Fülle, aber vom allem zu viel. 2013-2026

This is a ripe full bodied Bordeaux white, typical of Pape Clement with generous amounts of toasty oak-influenced characters. There is sufficient fruit to support the oak but it is heavy-handed and masks the freshness. Good length.
