The 2015 Hosanna has a generous bouquet of brambly red fruit, rose petal and hints of fresh fig, all well defined with a ferrous note emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, rounded and velvety smooth. A plush, sensual finish is less mineral driven than I noticed before. This is an excellent Hosanna. I expect that score to go up with bottle age. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

The 2015 Hosanna is still a bashful wine at first, only gradually unfurling with blackberry, black truffle, bay leaf and crushed violet. This is clearly keeping everything back for later. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannin, perfectly pitched acidity, very focused and harmonious with a deeply impressive, pure, mineral-rich finish that is one of the best I have encountered for this cru. This is going to be a seriously impressive Hosanna. Allelujah! Anticipated maturity: 2023 - 2050.

A dense, powerful Pomerol, the 2015 Hosanna hits the palate with a huge center of fruit and layers of flavor that open up effortlessly in the glass. Hosanna is easily the most exotically ripe, flamboyant wine in the Mouiex range. Dense, powerful and also quite structured, with huge tannins, Hosanna is going to need at least a number of years before it is at its best. Hosanna is also one of the darkest and most potent Pomerols readers will taste in 2015.

A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Hosanna had a medium garnet-purple color, charging out of the glass with an exotic perfume of smoked meats, truffles, sandalwood and Indian spices over a compelling core of cherry cordial, blackberry tart and blueberry compote plus suggestions of garrigue and rose hip tea. The full-bodied palate is absolutely laden with taut, muscular black and blue fruits, with a solid frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with languidly lingering licorice and spice flavors. Incredibly seductive and just plain delicious right now, hedonists can enjoy this captivating wine while it’s relatively young, while traditionalists can wait ten years and drink it over the next 25 years or more.

Fleshy and inviting, featuring warm fig, boysenberry and blackberry pâte de fruit notes laced with ganache and tobacco accents. Long and especially velvety through the finish, with waves of fruit and ganache in lockstep. This will have fans for sure. Best from 2022 through 2035. 1,030 cases made.  –JM

This has the wow factor; it's very impressive. The nose is saturated with dark, rich plums and wet-earth aromas, not to mention the roasted-coffee and crushed-violet undertones. The palate has polished, lustrous appeal, and dark plums and ripe blueberry flavors abound. Long, deep-set tannins with incredible depth. This has x-factor depth and elegance. Best from 2025.

Another muscular wine from the Moueix stable in 2015, showcasing the strength of Merlot grown on gravel and clay soils in Pomerol. This is excellent, majoring on liquorice, cigar box, graphite and brambled fruits. A wine that will age very slowly and reward patience.

A monumental wine is the 2015 Hosanna and it’s 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc raised in (I suspect) all new barrels that’s from a single parcel of older vines. One of those rare wines to pair incredible opulence with off the charts elegance and purity, it’s up with the top handful of wines in this vintage and readers should do whatever they can to taste this beauty. Loaded with notions of blackcurrants, black raspberries, toasty oak, truffles, graphite, and spice-box, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, an ethereal, seamless texture, perfect balance, and a huge finish. It’s unquestionably one of the superstars in the vintage and should last for 25-30 years. Hats off to the Moueix team!

The 2015 Hosanna is a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. Now Hosanna is usually quite exuberant on the nose at this early stage, however, this is a very different Hosanna - much more reserved and introverted, yet still complex with a melange of black fruit, undergrowth, truffle and brine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, plenty of truffle-tinged fruit, a lovely spicy edge and a persuasive peacock's tail finish that lingers long in the mouth while maintaining wonderful freshness. This is an outstanding Hosanna from the JP Moueix team, perhaps the first vintage to really convince me of its greatness since its debut. Drink 2023-2050

4ha vineyard. Powerful but subdued. Masses of dark fruit on the nose – blackcurrant to the fore. Huge depth on the palate backed by abundant tannins that are finely polished with no aggression. Freshness and enormous length on the finish.2023-2040

The 2015 Hosanna is endowed with remarkable depth and intensity. Violet, plum, lavender, tobacco and exotic spice notes make a strong first impression. Deep, layered and pliant on the palate, the Hosanna reveals layer after layer of flavor. The tannins are very much present, but they are nearly buried by the sheer luxuriousness of the fruit. Hosanna is 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc from clay/gravel soils.

Licorice, espresso, spice box and black cherry liqueur dash out of the gate and off the block into the perfume. On the palate, this wine is all about the smooth textures and dense, lush, black plums and black raspberry liqueur in an endless finish. The harvest took place from September 11 to October 1. The wine was produced from a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. 95 - 97 Pts

A Jean-Pierre Moueix wine. 4 ha (10 acres) of gravel and clay. 82% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc. Mid ruby. Broad and floral on the nose. Good attack though a little moderate in impact. Not a blockbuster! But very gentle and mild. Appetising. Drink 2025-2038

95–97. Barrel Sample. This 10-acre estate has produced a magnificent wine. Powered by tannins and with concentrated dark fruits, this is a blockbuster, packing everything into a stylish exterior. A wine to age.

Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Recht offenes, ausladendes Bouquet, Brombeerennoten, Fliedertöne, feinschichtig, mittlerer Aromendruck. 19/20 2023 – 2044

Dense, with a muscular feel, though the core of cassis and blackberry paste is very pure. This is inlaid with some hefty roasted apple wood and melted licorice notes, giving way to warm Christmas pudding on the finish, all while maintaining a serious tannic spine.—J.M.
