Wine Advocate 87 / 100 byNeal Martinthe10/28/2016 Tasted blind at the Southwold 2012 tasting. The 2012 Gazin-Rocquencourt Blanc has an agreeable apple peel and walnut oil bouquet that just needs a little more delineation. The palate is fresh on the entry with a keen line of acidity, light and airy, but it is lacking some depth on the grapefruit-tinged finish. Not bad, though I have tasted better vintages in recent years. Tasted January 2016.
Wine Advocate 87-89 / 100 byNeal Martinthe5/3/2013 Tasted from a barrel sample at en primeur. This sample offers light aromas of grass clipping and dewy green apple on the nose that feels so slightly suppressed at the moment. The palate is sedate on the entry with light green apple and nettle/dandelion notes, with crisp acidity on the sharp, almost Muscadet-like finish. Fine. Tasted April 2013.
Wine Advocate 88-90 / 100 byRobert Parkerthe4/26/2013 This attractive dry white Bordeaux exhibits plenty of honeysuckle, fig and citrus oil characteristics in its soft, round, up-front, precocious style. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.Drink: 2013 - 2019
My Bettane + Desseauve 14,5 / 20 the4/22/2013 Parfaitement équilibré, il mise sur l’élégance de ses arômes fruités et floraux, sa bouche fondante, franche, savoureuse, très aromatique et délicieusement vive.
Wine Spectator 89-92 / 100 byJames Molesworththe4/5/2013 Solid, with pure wet stone, straw, white peach and lemon curd notes. Creamy feel, but there’s lively acidity well-buried through the herb-tinged finish. Nice showing. —J.M.
