Wine Advocate 91 / 100 byNeal Martinthe10/28/2016 Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 Beauséjour Bécot had a strange bouquet at first, a little funkiness that soon dissipates with several swirls of the glass. I like the delineation here, nuanced red cherry and wild strawberry scents, black tea and undergrowth, though I noticed that it becomes just a little volatile with aeration—something to watch out for. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, foursquare for a Saint Emilion and yet nicely focused, just the right amount of dryness, if not quite delivering the requisite complexity and tension on the finish. This is one of those wines that is "nearly there" and needs bottle age, but I am certain it will come good once it has settled down. Tasted January 2016. Note : 91+/100
Jamessuckling.com 92 / 100 byJames Sucklingthe2/15/2015 A red with juicy fruit and fine tannins including a dried meat and smoke undertone. Full body, tight tannins and a flavorful finish. Improved in barrel. A joy to taste. Better in 2018.
Wine Spectator 91 / 100 byJames Molesworththe2/10/2015 This has a nice core of bramble-edged plum and blackberry pâte de fruit flavors, underscored with lightly singed alder and juniper hints. A mineral note maintains a little tension through the finish. This should age nicely in the mid-term. Best from 2016 through 2022. 5,416 cases made. –JM

timatkin.com 93 / 100 byTim Atkin MWthe6/30/2013 Juliette Bécot is making increasingly ambitious wines, aiming for concentration and longevity rather than immediate appeal. This is a very serious St Emilion, oaky and dense and structured, yet the underlying fruit is sweet and generous with layers of plum, chocolate and coffee bean. Drink: 2020-35
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 88-91 / 100 byIan D'Agatathe6/30/2013 Bright ruby. Blackcurrant, graphite, licorice and pepper on the nose. Blackberry, spices and vanilla on the palate, with a violet topnote contributing to an impression of lift. Nicely sweet and savory Saint-Emilion, with building concentration, very good length and plenty of early appeal.

Asian Palate 92 / 100 byJeannie Cho Lee MWthe5/15/2013 Elegant, intense red with ripe plums and blackberry fruit. Tasted twice, this wine showed well both times. Good concentration and depth, beautifully crafted red with layers of delicate flavours. Fairly long length.
Wine Advocate 90-92 / 100 byNeal Martinthe5/6/2013 A blend of 70% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Beausejour Becot has a vibrant, brightness on the nose. The palate is packed full of lush ripe red berry fruit – quite lavish and exotic for the vintage with a “furry”, sexy finish. Modern in style, this is an opulent Beausejour Becot that should be approachable after bottling, but age well. Tasted April 2013.
Wine Spectator 89-92 / 100 byJames Molesworththe4/30/2013 This is bouncy, with a briary backdrop to the blueberry, lingonberry and cherry fruit. Delivers a mouthfilling finish of fruit cake and anise. —J.M.
Longueur moyenne.
My Bettane + Desseauve 17 / 20 the4/26/2013 Gras et ample, très séduisant. Grande dimension avec une sève savoureuse et profonde, un fruit noir mûr mais sans lourdeur, des tannins mûrs. Très charmeur.
Jancis Robinson 16 / 20 byJulia Harding MWthe4/26/2013 Drink 2016-2023Inky with black core. Intense, very dark yet fresh fruit, heading towards savoury with all that intensity. Lighter on the palate than I expected, the tannins fine and reined back. A little abrupt on the finish. (JH)
Wine Advocate 92-95 / 100 byRobert Parkerthe4/26/2013 A spectacular wine from this nearly 50-acre vineyard situated atop St.-Emilion’s famed limestone plateau, the final blend for the 2012 Beau-Sejour Becot was 70% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. It achieved 14% natural alcohol and yields were 31 hectoliters per hectare. One of the stars of the vintage, it is elegant yet powerful, rich and authoritative with abundant black raspberry, blueberry, graphite and toasty vanillin notes. Full-bodied and super rich for a 2012, it is packed with potential. The tannins are ripe as well as abundant suggesting several years of bottle age will be required. It should turn out to be a 20 year proposition. Kudos to the Becot family for producing this beauty.Drink: 2013 - 2033
The Wine Cellar Insider 90-93 / 100 byJeff Levethe4/26/2013 This is the first vintage using the new cellar with the inverted stainless steel vats for vinification. The wine is filled with the essence of minerals, licorice and juicy plums with fresh blackberries, vanilla and fennel in the finish. Using 75 % Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine reached 14% alcohol. 90-93 Pts
