Perhaps as profound as the 1989, the 1990 La Lagune is reminiscent of their excellent 1976. Made from super-ripe fruit, it exhibits low acidity, excellent concentration, a smoky, nutty, sweet berry-like fruitiness, a round, generous texture, and a fat, lush finish. It lacks some grip, but should provide delicious, complex drinking over the next decade. Once again, it tastes more Burgundian than Bordelais.
