Le Figaro - L'Avis du Vin 16 / 20 par Club Vin le 15/05/2017 Petits fruits noirs, Zan, cerise noire. Bouche ample, petite pointe asséchante, fruitée, tonique, tannins amples, finale longue.
Wine Advocate 91-93 / 100 par Neal Martin le 02/05/2017 The 2016 La Cabanne is a blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc picked from the end of September. François Estager told me that like last year, he did not add any sulphites until after the malolactic fermentation. It has a well-defined bouquet with black cherries, a touch of cassis, a lovely marine influence and crushed violets. It opens beautifully in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp, tensile tannin and very well-judged acidity. This Pomerol displays great energy and poise, fanning out on the second half that demonstrates superb mineralité. This is an unmissable follow-up to the 2015 La Cabanne. Tasted twice with consistent notes.
The Wine Cellar Insider 91-93 / 100 par Jeff Leve le 27/04/2017 Chocolate-covered plums dusted with cayenne arrive on the palate, they bring along flowers, black raspberry and a little more spice on the nose. Medium bodied with a freshness, this wine was made from a blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc and is 14.8% alcohol with a pH of 3.65.
matthewjukes.com 15,5 / 20 par Matthew Jukes le 25/04/2017 Rather too sour and hard with blunt oak and very drying tannins, this is a joyless style with no discernible charm. 15.5+?
Jancis Robinson 16 / 20 par Jancis Robinson le 21/04/2017 Big and bold with pinched sweetness on the end but a neat, dry finish.
Jamessuckling.com 94-95 / 100 par James Suckling le 05/04/2017 A juicy and fruity red that shows reserve and structure. Full body, polished and chewy tannins and a long finish. Big wine for the vintage. Serious... again!
