Another relatively obscure Pauillac, although a classified growth in the 1855 classification, Lynch-Moussas has long been owned by the Castéja family. With soft, juicy tannins and attractive blackcurrant and plum fruit, this dark ruby/purple-colored wine is well-made, elegant, ripe, luscious and fruit-forward. It can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years. This is an excellent Lynch-Moussas.

A red with blueberry, spice and toasted-oak character. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a fruity, decadent finish. 79% cabernet sauvignon and 21% merlot. Better in 2018.

More savoury and meaty than most on the nose but a bit hard on the palate. Toughness exacerbated by the acidity. (JH)13% Drink 2022-2028

A sleeper of the vintage as well as one of the finest efforts I have seen from this estate owned by Philippe Casteja, Lynch Moussas appears to be rising in quality. This seductive, medium-bodied, charming, endearing 2012 exhibits lovely cassis fruit as well as an attractive mid-palate and a surprisingly long finish. A hint of chocolate adds to its appeal. It should drink well for 10-15 years.Drink: 2013 - 2028

Drink 2020-2032Very dark crimson. Scented and interesting. Tastes as though there is some terroir bounding out here. Somehow reminds me of alpine flowers (no connection whatsoever to the Gironde!). Much gentler tannins than most but no shortage of flavour and character. Most intriguing. Not that long term but lots of fun.

A wine with firm tannins and pretty fruit. Medium body, with fine texture and a medium finish. Not pushed and refined. Very pretty. Like it slightly better than 2011. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot.
