Firm and linear, exhibiting lime, stone, hazelnut and herb aromas and flavors. This is cool in character, with precision balance and a long aftertaste of mineral and toast. Still young, with fine potential. Needs more time to show all its facets. Best from 2010 through 2020.

Very broad and engaging on the nose with its slightly toasty topnote. Round and glorious with a thoroughly satisfying texture – quite a mouthful. So clean yet rich! This has real depth and savour. At the end of the palate it shut down a little but all in all this was a very good showing indeed. This would be dangerously easy to enjoy young. Great richness but great balance – no shortage of acidity.

Anne-Claude opined that Pucelles flirts with Grand Cru quality and her 2005 testified to that. A vivacious, floral nose of white flowers, apple-blossom, white peach and granite all with immense delineation and joie-de-vivre. The palate is powerful and very minerally with racy acidity, before tightening up on the finish as if the wine has given away too much too soon. Sublime. Drinking 2012-2018. Tasted January 2007.
