The 2018 Montviel is a lush, forward Pomerol that will drink well with minimal cellaring. Black cherry, chocolate, leather, spice and menthol infuse this creamy, racy Pomerol. The 2018 is not especially complex, but it is tasty. Tasted two times.

Deep, saturated purple-colored, the 2018 Château Montviel offers a mouthfilling style as well as terrific notes of ripe black cherries, damp earth, chocolate, and tobacco. It's a layered, beautifully textured, seriously good barrel sample.

This is very attractive and rich with sweet fruit and gourmet touches but without going overboard. 100% integral vinification in new ok barrels. A yield of 35hl/ha with 5ha of a 10.5ha dedicated to this 1st wine. The harvest took place between 19 September and 3 October.

Plummy and floral, the wine is sophistication and freshness. Medium-bodied and jam-packed with sweet black raspberries and licorice accents, the ripe, earthy plum and cherry fruits transport silkiness to the palate and into the finish. The wine is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. This is a serious value for the Pomerol region in 2018. Savvy shoppers should be all over this.

Deep purple-black colored, the 2018 Montviel leaps from the glass with bold black cherries, black raspberries and warm red plums scents plus touches of garrigue, lavender, Sichuan pepper and tree bark. Full-bodied, rich and opulent, it delivers wonderfully ripe, plush tannins and a long pepper-laced finish.

80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc
Château Montviel dispose d’une superficie de 10.5ha dont la moitié est dédiée au 1er vin. Densité de plantation variant entre 6 500 et 9 000 pieds/ha. Les vendanges se sont déroulées entre le 19 septembre et le 3 octobre et le rendement s’est élevé à 35hl/ha. Bonne intensité du nez avec des notes fruitées et légèrement fumées. Rafraîchissante touche d’eucalyptus. Attaque fruitée et crémeuse. Au palais, le vin est friand, un peu juteux et parfaitement équilibré. Belle symbiose entre la structure et les tannins. Beaucoup d’élégance. 2023-2035
