The 2016 Les Hauts du Tertre, the Deuxième Vin of Château du Tertre, will be released en primeur for the first time this year and comprises of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. It has an attractive nose of crushed strawberry and cranberry, very generous and the Cabernet Franc really lending personality. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a crisp line of acidity, harmonious with red berry fruit laced with cola on the finish. This is a very commendable second label and comes recommended as an easy-drinking pleasure over the next 7-10 years.
