Wine Advocate
byRobert Parkerthe6/30/1992
This property has been making superlative wines since 1988, with the 1989 being the best of the three most recent vintages. The 1990 reveals a subtle touch of toasty new oak, as well as honeyed, ripe flavors. In the mouth, the wine emphasizes stylish, rich fruit flavors and elegance rather than blockbuster alcohol and viscosity. There is a sense of depth, overall gracefulness, and finesse to this moderately rich, classy example of Sauternes. Though it does not have the power or botrytis of the 1989, or the finesse of the 1988, it is still an admirable example of La Tour Blanche. Anticipated maturity: 1995-2010.
