Dark slightly brownish crimson with a weak rim. Luscious fully ripe Cabernet Franc aromas to me (JH: it does have an unusually high 18% this year). Very round and plush and easy. Soft and gentle with good refreshment factor. Very appetising. Nicely balanced. And Margaux gentleness.

Nez original et aisément reconnaissable de poivron rouge, donné par le cabernet franc, vin frais, élégant, friand même, très naturel, mais le poivrion (qui n’a rien ici de végétal) dérangera quelques dégustateurs…

J'ai goûté ce vin 3 fois. A chaque fois une odeur et un goût de poivron vert dominaient le vin. Heureusement, ses tanins sont finement extraits et le vin n'est pas rude, mais je crains pour son devenir : les méthoxypyrazines sont des molécules particulièrement stables dans le vin. Restera-t-il une chance à l'élevage ? Lors de ma visite M Van Beeck m'a précisé que l'assemble définitif n'était pas encore totalement défini. A suivre.

A blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. This has a much riper nose than Château Giscours with blackberries, raspberries and graphite. Perhaps it just lacks a little delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, quite chewy tannins, moderate fruit concentration with tobacco and cedar coming through on the finish. A little disjointed, but it has the right components to improve significantly by bottling. Good weight on the finish. Tasted April 2008.
