Château Belgrave 5th Classified Growth - Haut Médoc - 2009
The year was held in Belgrave under beautiful auspices: beautiful outing, flowering homogeneous early June, beautiful days warm and sunny until the harvest. An exceptional water deficit has resulted in a marked slowdown in phenolic maturation on some plots. The providential rain of mid-September allowed the vine to catch its breath, and to complete its maturation under a persistent Indian summer. The harvest, which in July promised to be early, did not finally start until the beginning of October. The fermentations are carried out at controlled temperature, for a smooth extraction of perfectly maturing tannins.
