Chapel of Potensac - Château Potensac - Médoc 2016 6b11bd6ba9341f0271941e7df664d056

The 2016 vintage starts with water reserves largely replenished thanks to significant rainfall from January to March. 6b11bd6ba9341f0271941e7df664d056 Mild temperatures in March ensure an early bud burst while April is punctuated by cold and rainy mornings giving rise to a slow vegetative growth. From mid-June to mid-October, rainfall is well below seasonal norms. 6b11bd6ba9341f0271941e7df664d056 During the first fortnight of August, the veraison is fast and homogeneous on the three properties. 6b11bd6ba9341f0271941e7df664d056 Some scattered rains in mid-September occur, allowing the most filtering soils to be released. 6b11bd6ba9341f0271941e7df664d056 The perfect climatic conditions during the harvest allow us to harvest grapes of remarkable quality. 6b11bd6ba9341f0271941e7df664d056

An attractive nose with red fruit and an array of red flowers that lead to a palate that has red fruit at its core and a fresh, attractive set of polished, vibrant tannins. Fresh finish. This has ripeness and verve. A blend of 75 per cent merlot, 17 per cent cabernet sauvignon and eight per cent cabernet franc. Second wine of Château Potensac. Exceptional value. Try from 2022.

The 2016 Chapelle de Potensac has a lightly tobacco-scented bouquet of blackberry and a touch of bell pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin. Rather rustic and, to be honest, just too simple toward the finish. Drink over the next two or three years.

The 2016 Chapelle de Potensac is an absolutely gorgeous second wine from Jean-Hubert Delon's Potensac estate. Fresh, perfumed and beautifully lifted in the glass, the Chapelle is flat-out delicious. Floral notes add freshness to a core of sweet red cher pomegranate, blood orange and spice flavors. Delon's entire portfolio is impressive in 2016, but the wines from Potensac are especially of note. Tasted two times.

The 2016 Chapelle de Potensac is blended of 75% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it gives up gorgeous black plums, mulberries and black cherries with hints of cinnamon stick and rose hip tea. The palate is medium-bodied, fine, refreshing and elegant with soft tannins and plenty of juicy fruit.

Fruits rouges, touche de chocolat, épices. Jolie bouche, souple et gourmande, pour ce vin à la finale fruitée, d'une agréable persistance.

The 2016 Chapelle de Potensac is a blend of 75% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. It has quite a punchy bouquet with more red than black fruit infused with a touch of seaweed and oyster shell. The palate is sharp on the entry with attacking acidity, bitter cherry infusing the red fruit with sous-bois notes towards the rather angular finish. This will be drinking for three or four years after bottling.

The 2016 Chapelle de Potensac, the second wine from Potensac shows just how appealing this vintage is. Sweet red cherry, plum, pomegranate and sweet floral notes run through the 2016. Supple and juicy, with no hard edges, this wine is a winner.

(75 Merlot, 17 Cabernet Sauvignon, 8 Cabernet Franc) | 5% new oak | 13.3% alc. | 63 IPT Very clean, bright and open and with some nice, sour red cherry notes to balance the exuberant attack this is a very smart and balanced wine. Very impressive and very immediate. 16.5

Barrel Sample. This wine's fruitiness is currently dominant, with attractive cherry tones that are bolstered by fine acidity. Soft, ripe and juicy, it is freshened by its crisp aftertaste. It will age well over the medium term.

Located just north of St-Estèphe on clay, gravel and limestone soils. Beautifully fragrant in the mouth, this has an effortless quality to it. A very pretty wine with fine tannins. Gentle red fruits and 10% new oak make this a great choice for early drinking.

This is a really beautiful red with currant and violet character. Medium-bodied, fresh and delicious with hints of citrus undertones. Makes you want to drink it. Second wine of Potensac.
