Brumes of the White Tower - Sauternes 2015

Characteristics of the vintage: As many years in 5 in Sauternes, the vintage 2015 is a great success. The countryside starts in spring with very good weather conditions, even if the morning dew causes some contamination on leaves to the vine. Due to the well-controlled disease pressure, the clusters are spared and the harvest potential remains high, but harvesting is still a long way off. The month of July is marked by very high temperatures and very little precipitation. The vine is about two weeks ahead, but the grapes grow slowly and the dandelions remain thick. August is also sunny with more reasonable temperatures. On the arrival of September, the grapes are very ripe but the botrytis cinerea evolves slowly. Despite a first sowing on 14 September, the grape harvest is struggling to get off to a good start. Then everything accelerates from the end of September, with the harvest of large and well concentrated lots, some reaching very high potential degrees (up to 25% / vol. ). The harvest is superb, with a very healthy vineyard and a noble rot of exceptional quality. The team of the Château La Tour Blanche sees the harvest finish on October 29 with the feeling of having still managed a very great vintage. This wine comes from a selection of less concentrated juices is characterized by a beautiful complexity, a high aromatic purity and a very pleasant freshness. Harvest date: September 14 to October 29 Number of tries: 4 Yield: 12.5 hl / ha Number of bottles: approximately 13,000 Blend: 60% Sémillon, 30% Sauvignon, 10% Muscadelle Alcohol: 14% / vol Sugars Residual: 105 g / l Acidity: 3,6 g / l H2SO4 Recommended tasting period: from now until 2020 Serving temperature: around 10 ° C
